FAQs

Your Questions Answered

Is this really a UK company and is stock shipped from the UK?

Absolutely. We are based in Basingstoke, UK, RG24 8PB. All orders are shipped form this facility. If we are out of stock on a particular item, we will advise this at the time of order and only proceed with your order if you are happy with the leadtime for replacement stock

Are your items covered by warranty?

Yes

Laptop batteries: 12 months

AC Adapters: 12 months

Projector lamps: 6 months

How long should a laptop battery last?

This is entirely dependent on the usage pattern, but as a general rule of thumb laptop batteries are good for 500 charge/discharge cycles which typically ends up being 2 years+

All batteries will degrade over time so will need to be replaced every couple of years in order to be able to use for a useful amount of time without plugging in

How do I order from you?

Please call us at 01252 854411 or e-mail us at sales@nrgparts.com

Please have the full details of your laptop model to hand, or ideally the original (OEM) part number of the battery / charger / lamp that you need to replace

Can I use a higher powered charger than the original one?

Yes, as long as the output voltage is the same (and the connector is correct) you can use a higher powered charger than the original. For example, you can use a 65W / 19V charger in stead of a 45W / 19V charger or a 90W / 19V charger instead of a 65W / 19V charger

But you can not use a lower powered charger to replace a higher powered one, so you can not use a 65W / 19V charger to replace a 90W / 19V charger

There are lots of cheap replacement parts online – why should I not buy these?

Of course you can, but there are always risks

If a product is very cheap, it must be using low cost and therefore low quality components or the manufacturers may have taken shortcuts on product quality / safety circuitry. In particular laptop batteries can be dangerous if not manufactured in the right way, with the right components and packaged and transported correctly. All laptop batteries must be manufactured according to UN38.3 regulations which our batteries are, but not all online suppliers maintain such high quality and regulatory standards

Also some online suppliers with a .co.uk address are not actually in the UK and your product may be shipping from overseas which may lead to long transport delays due to transport regulations for batteries as well as potential customs issues

Can I just buy online directly from your website?

No, we do not sell directly online, but can direct you to an affiliated website: www.laptopbattery.co.uk
